DAVE MATTHEWS BAND sets summer tour. A summer tour and a new album are in the works for one of America's favorite rock bands, according to CDNOW's allstar. Their tour will begin with a two shows in Columbus, Ohio, June 19 and 20, and will continue through August 5. The opening act through July 25 will be Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. The upcoming album is set for release sometime during the tour.

NO DOUBT's Gwen joins BUSH's Gavin onstage. MTV reports that Bush singer Gavin Rossdale and his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani of No Doubt spent a little quality time together onstage at a recent Manchester, England Bush concert. Gwen sang on the tune "Spacetravel," which she also provided background vocals for on Bush's latest album The Science of Things. It was the first time the two had ever performed together.

KID ROCK to host Detroit Music Awards. The rap-metal bad boy is going home. Rolling Stone reports that KID ROCK will return to his native Detroit to host the 2000 Detroit Music Awards, a program that recognizes local musicians for their talent. Other artists with Detroit roots include the Verve Pipe and Eminem.
