DEFTONES donate some cash to a fired editor. Everyone lets the f-word slip now and again. But, in McAllen, Texas, Monitor features editor Nora Garza lost her job over it when she ran a picture of DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno wearing a "FUCT" shirt. Feeling somewhat responsible for the incident, the FUCT clothing company and the DEFTONES shelled out $5,000 for the former editor, says Rolling Stone.

LIMP BIZKIT goes limp on Indianapolis gig. CDNOW's Allstar reports that the BIZKIT was forced to cancel its second show in two weeks due to lead singer Fred Durst's swollen vocal cords. The band is currently on the Anger Management Tour with PAPA ROACH, XZIBIT, and EMINEM. The missed tour stops are being rescheduled.

GREEN DAY plays for the bay. GREEN DAY headlined a rally in San Francisco this weekend, says SonicNet. The cause? Limiting the amount of office space allowed for dot-coms downtown in order to reclaim space for musicians. METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett was also on hand to support the effort.
